Lim, Nam-jin

임남진의 풍속도는 우리네 삶의 축소판이라 할 수 있다. 제한된 규격의 풍속도 연작에는 수많은 인물들이 등장한다. 

작가 자신을 비롯하여 화우(畵友)들, 그리고 다정한 우리의 

이웃들이다. 화면에 나타난 공간들은 작가가 실제 접하는 환경이자 또한 우리가 매일 발을 딛고 생활하는 친숙한 삶의 공간들이다.

Lim Nam-jin's genre paintings can be described as a scaled-down version of our own lives. Innumerable figures appear in the series of scale-limited genre paintings. They are the artist herself and her fellow painters, and our loving neighbors. 

The spaces appearing inside these canvases are actual environments which the artists engages, and are also familiar spaces of life which we walk and live in each day.
